Method. Schwartz methods for studying the values of personality (“Profile of the person”).
Results. On the basis of comparison of the hierarchies of individual values of the three groups of young people, Russian, Chechen and Dagestan, it is established that there are significant differences between them in the parameters of "collectivism-individualism", "preservation-openness to change," due to the peculiarities of ethnic culture and monoand polyethnic environment.
Conclusions. The main difference between Russian and North Caucasian youth is manifested in the importance for them of tradition: for Chechen youth, tradition is the dominant value,Dagestan youth occupy the middle of the hierarchy, Russian youth reject it.
