The authors of the article present the results of the experimental research of the influence of conditions of children's institutions and the composition of teen groups on the adolescents’ interpersonal relationships. It is established that the individual characteristics of the intra-group relations in boarding schools are better than the other institutions, and ethnically mixed teenage groups are more favourable for the formation of the interpersonal tolerance and the conflict-free communication skills.
