INDIVIDUAL VALUES OF RUSSIANS IN COMPARATIVE STUDIES

Abstract

The aim of the article is to analyze the results of comparative empirical studies of the dynamics of Russians’ individual values for the past two decades. 

Method. Analysis of empirical socio-psychological and sociological researches. 

Results. It is shown that for the past two decades there are significant changes in the personal values of Russians associated with the growing importance of individualistic values, mainly for young people. At the same time, there are significant contradictions in the empirical data presented by different researchers. 

Conclusion. Despite differences in the authors’ methodological approaches and certain discrepancies in the data they have received, it is possible to draw a general picture of the structure of individual values of Russians, their dynamics over the past two decades: the presence of a pronounced social orientation and a clear tendency to increase the values of changes, generation of Russians.
