Influence of Some Characterisctics of the Self-Concept on Personality’s Self-Actualization

Abstract

The aim of this research is to investigate the interrelations between the components of Self-concept and indicators of self-actualization. Methods. Analysis of psychological literature, synthesis, generalization – theoretical methods; testing, interview, qualitative analysis of the results of the research – practical methods. Results. The author of the article identify the correlations between structural components of Self-concept and indicators of self-actualization such as flexibility of behavior, sensitiveness, cognitive needs, self-perception, creativity, etc. Conclusions. Public self-consciousness and self-esteem have a significant impact on the process of personality’s self-actualization. These findings alow to conferm the hypothesis that the level of a personality’s Self-concept development influences the occuarance of separate components of its self-actualizationare.
