Abstract

The aim is to study the possibility of developing students' critical thinking when teaching mathematics through the construction of counterexamples. Methods. Combined analytical and synthetic methods, mathematical methods of information processing. Result. The author has selected the types of tasks and constructed counterexamples that contribute to the formation and development of students' critical thinking. Conclusion. The formation of skills to construct counterexamples that refute statements or suggestions is an important component of students' critical thinking.
