Universal Competence of a Pedagogical University Student: Psychological and Pedagogical Context

Abstract

The aim of this article is to conceptualize the category of "universal competence" from the point of view of the content of psychological and pedagogical research.

Methods. This study is based on the study of theoretical studies by Russian authors devoted to the problems of the competence approach in general, and the problems of understanding the psychological and pedagogical essence of universal competencies.

Results. The key features of understanding the phenomenon of "universal competencies" in the psychological and pedagogical context are identified, and the works of domestic researchers devoted to the stated problem are analyzed.

Conclusions. As we can conclude from the results of the study, universal competencies are a set of competencies that develop in the learning process, and are associated with all aspects of the life of graduates, they determine the ability and readiness for personal and professional development, both in an educational institution and in a career development environment.
