Abstract
The aim of the article is to describe the results of experimental work to identify the effectiveness of using debates in the development of reception skills and public speech production among foreign undergraduates when teaching Russian as a foreign language (RCT).
Methods. This research is based on the methods of analyzing the theoretical source base and conducting pedagogical experimental work.
Results. The prospects of using debates in the development of public speaking skills are not fully understood. Experimental work has shown that the effectiveness of the use of debates is high both in terms of use and within the framework of distance learning and the traditional educational process.
Conclusions. The use of the practice of conducting debates when working with foreign undergraduates of the Russian Academy of Sciences should be consistent with the existing pedagogical tasks. Thus, the use of distance learning technologies in conducting debates has become a driver for improving the skills of a written public speaker.
