Abstract
Аim. As part of the study, the authors raise the issue of the practice of using information technology by teachers, and set the goal of measuring the digital competence of teachers.
Methods. The key methods are methods of qualitative and quantitative analysis. Thus, on the basis of qualitative analysis methods, the main elements of digital competence were established. At the same time, on the basis of quantitative analysis methods, indicators of the development of the motivational, cognitive and operational components of teachers' digital competence were analyzed.
Results. The authors come to the conclusion about the importance of digital competence formed and developed in pedagogical practice. At the same time, an attempt is made to measure the level of digital competence by examining the development of motivational, cognitive and operational criteria of competence.
Conclusions. Based on the results obtained, the authors conclude that the motivational component is at the heart of the development of a teacher's digital competence, while there are problems related to the operational criterion, which is limited by the capabilities of educational institutions to improve the information support systems of the educational process.
