В статье обосновывается важность развития социокультурной компетенции на уроках иностранного языка в школе. Рассматривается структура и содержание социокультурной компетенции. Анализ различных точек зрения относительно данной проблемы позволил представить свою структуру социокультурной компетенции. Выделенные социокультурные компоненты способствуют формированию социокультурной и коммуникативной компетенций учащихся средней общеобразовательной школы.

The author of the article explains the importance of developing the sociocultural competences at the foreign language lessons at school. She describes the structure and content of sociocultural competence. The analysis of different points of view on this issue allowed her to represent the structure of the sociocultural competence. Selected socio-cultural components contribute to the formation of the secondary schoolchildren’s sociocultural and communicative competences.
